We Lost Our Bees
The recent wind storm was devastating to the bee hives at Everyone's Garden. Thousands of bees died as a result of the hives being knocked over in the strong winds. The bees have been an integral part of our garden family and we are all saddened by their loss.
Bees contribute to many aspects of our everyday life-- from flower and plant pollination, to honey production, to balancing the ecosystem. Last year, seven species of bees were added to the endangered species list. To us, keeping bees represents a symbol of responsible earth stewardship, which is one of our values that we promote.
We are asking for your support to help restore our bee program. This summer we plan on replacing the two colonies and enhancing our educational programs surrounding the bees. Any contribution is helpful, however, with a donation of $10 or more, you will receive lovely bee button as a token of our appreciation.
